Olympic champion, riders from 20 countries and three Berrichons at international eventing competitions in Lignier

For the fifteenth edition, we entered 249 horsepower, which is a record. We have a delegation with 142 French horses. The second delegation is Germany with 22 participants, including the current Olympic champion, equestrian Julie Krajewski. Then come Belgium, Spain, etc. We have ten English horses, which is not bad. Under Brexit conditions, crossing the English Channel by truck costs them about 1,000 euros in customs duties. To this must be added the cost of gasoline, etc. And we also have slightly more exotic nations: New Zealanders with Tim Price, number 2 in the world, Australians, Thais, Poles, Finns, Norwegians, South Africans and even Pakistanis.

For us, this is fantastic. We had nothing to do with it: we did not contribute to his performance, but we are very proud that Mathis Portejois wears the high colors of Cher.

Are you satisfied with this board?

Yes ! There are 20 nations present, I have never had so many. It’s fun. We organized the first triathlon in 1995 at the old hippodrome. We have about thirty publications, including fifteen international ones. Mayonnaise takes, it’s nice. The level rose gradually. There are two events of this level in France.

Apart from a few local…

yes there will be three (Mathis Portejois, Alix Bourteau and Clementine Léger, editor’s note), another record! Young Mathis Portejoie from La Guerche comes with his lead horse. He is well positioned in the Grand National competition, won the stage and comes to the 4 * L competition with the aim of qualifying in Group 1 at the Olympics. For us, this is fantastic. We have nothing to do with it: we did not contribute to his performance, but we are very proud that he wears the colors of Cher.

These are relationships that develop over the years. You send a note when they become parents, when they perform well, for the holidays…

How do you work to build such a set?

Commitments are free. Then there are relationships that develop over the years. You send a note when they become parents, when they perform well, for the holidays… But these are bonds that are built like with friends. We have been involved in triathlon since 1995, so there are people with whom we have a very good relationship. And these people are promoting competition by saying that the infrastructure is top notch, that the horses are well set up, the pitches are well built, and the people in the stadium are smiling.
